The added weight of multiple cars means you have to build your structures more solidly, and there’s often a risk of collisions on levels where reaching the goal involves crossing through the same lane more than once in different directions. I always felt like I was making progress towards a solution, even when everything was going up in flames, and reaching the end of a level left me with a strong sense of satisfaction that was the culmination of many tweaks and “A-ha!” moments.Ĭonvoy mode earns you the ultimate bragging rights. There’s also a clever mechanic for scaling difficulty, in that each level can be completed either with one vehicle or a longer convoy of them. This creates a satisfying progression, as you can focus on just getting the first part of the track sorted and then troubleshoot in steps. While some of the harder puzzles are nothing short of mind-boggling on first glance, Bridge Constructor Portal allows you an unlimited number of dry runs to try and get it right. Especially in the later levels, they create some really crazy paths to victory that involve precisely tilted ramps and overlapping lanes of travel where you have to time everything just right if you don’t want your test subjects colliding with each other in a giant fireball. ![]() So get ready to blast off in a rocket fuelled Starfield performance preview.Portals create some really crazy paths to victory. The major twist separating it from previous Bridge Constructor games is, unsurprisingly, that many levels include paired sets of portals through which you can hurdle cars and other puzzle-related objects (such as the trusty companion cube), preserving their momentum. We also compare the improvements over the previous showing, enhancements within the engine, and much more. The biggest question after the show(s) was: why is it 30fps on Xbox Series X and Series S and not 60fps? In this IGN Performance preview, we dive into the details shared by the team, the revealed PC minimum and recommended specifications, and how the Creation Engine 2 works, comparing the previous games to gauge some of the potential reasons why the team might have chosen 30fps. With Starfield being the center of the Xbox 2023 Showcase last week, Bethesda gave us a deep dive into one of the biggest games this generation. ![]() Support it from above with a cable, and below with a single rail. You might have to tweak your ramps a little to get the carts to fly perfectly between the red, green, and purple portals, but once they do all thats left is to make a simple single section bridge the carts can launch off of to reach the exit. You can support these constructions from below using the anchor points on the ground, or just add a ton of cables attached to the celing anchor point. Using your first bridge as a base, make an upper path that will guide the carts into the dark blue portal. Make a downward path to lead the cart into the light blue, then use the anchor points in front of the left light blue portal to create a steep ramp that will launch the carts up toward the dark blue portal. Your path needs to delay the carts long enough for the Cube and pellet to reach their destination, so the idea path is light blue, to dark blue, to red. As you can see from the image below, I used a sort of lightning bolt shaped structure. Then use the anchor points in the middle above the green portals to place a few panels to redirect the pellet into the receiver on the opposite side. ![]() For the Cube, simply place a downward sloping ramp under the spawner in the top left corner. ![]() As always, begin by setting up the panels for the Companion Cube and energy pellet.
